Well, hello friends! I’m so happy to join you today to share a fun, new, not-so-spooky Halloween layout!! I know the thermometer outside is still reading 90 degrees, but once Labor Day is over, all bets are off…and I’m in the mood for AUTUMN! Which includes HALLOWEEN! Yay!!
I really do love this time of year. I try to stretch it out and make it last as long as I possibly can. My very first fall project this year was to scrapbook a fun photo from last Halloween. It’s tradition for us to all meet at my parent’s home early on Halloween evening and take a picture of all the cousins that can make it. It’s fun to put them all in one album and watch the kids grow up and reminisce about silly Halloween costumes!
The new “Midnight Haunting” collection is definitely one of my favorite Halloween collections ever! I love the gold foiling and wanted to really showcase it on my page!
I cut a “frame” from the black text paper and added the vellum with gold foil spiderwebs behind it. I loved the transparency of the vellum, but ultimately decided I wanted a bit more color, pattern, and stability to my layout. With that in mind, I added three strips of patterned paper across the back. Here’s a little trick for you. I used some really old washi tape to secure everything to the back of the black “frame” and then I stitched around it with sewing machine! It’s not pretty on the back, but it got the job done. I use washi tape to temporarily secure things all the time— it’s a great tool! Here’s a peek at the back:
The thickers, stickers, chipboard pieces, and brads add such amazing depth and texture to this page.
Seriously, check out that foiling – doesn’t it just make you swoon?
Are you ready for Autumn? Have you scrapbooked your Halloween photos from last year? I challenge you to pull them out (or print them out) and create a fun page with this amazing collection!
