Hey there Pebbles Friends! It’s Leanne here today and I’m sharing a layout using a popular social media platform Snap Chat, as inspiration! The filters used on photos can either create amusement or frustration! I mean, what even is a selfie if your face is covered by an animation!!? However, in honour of “Puppy Day” tomorrow, I thought I’d break into my daughter’s photos and scrap this fun phase of puppy dog noses and ears.
Gather your supplies.
The new Pebbles Inc Patio Party collection is so much fun! The bright and beautiful colours grab your attention immediately. For this layout, I have played with both the 6×6 mini paper pad as well as the larger 12×12 paper sheets.
Creating the layout.
step 1. Trim the patterned paper to 8.5″x11″. Trim the white cardstock to 8.25″x10.75″. The white cardstock should fit just inside the patterned paper, leaving a border around the edge.
step 2. Take the white cardstock and trim off the lower right corner. This will allow more of the patterned paper to show.
step 3. Mount your photo onto several pieces of paper from the 6×6 mini paper pad. Add it to the lower third of the page.
step 4. Using the flower die cut ephemera, arrange to suit the photo and align along the angle cut of the cardstock. Layer the dimensional flower stickers on top of the die cuts.
step 5. Add small droplets of black paint to the page. Create a visual triangle with these splashes.
step 6. For more interest and additional texture, hand stitch embroidery floss along the cardstock angle cut. Use a contrasting colour to the background patterned paper to help draw the eye.
step 7. Create embellishment clusters around the photo and at the top of the page in the white space. Layers can be created using fussy cut images from the 6×6 mini paper pad (small tags) and stickers mounted onto foam tape from the cardstock sticker sheet.
step 8. The title is adhered at an alternate angle to the cardstock cut. I have used a dark font not only to draw attention to it but also to coordinate and ground some of the patterned papers.
step 9. Journaling is finally added in layered strips which documents the date and who hides behind the filters!
Cute photos deserve to be paired with cute paper collections! Thanks for visiting.
