School Lunch Notes

Hi everyone. Heather Leopard is here and with the first day of school just 3 weeks away, I’m getting a jump start on school lunch prep.  No, I’m not prepping the actual meals because that would be just gross; I’m talking about school lunch notes.  I don’t care how old your kids are, including a little note in their lunch kit will make their day!

I don’t care how old your kids are, including a little note in their lunch kit will make their day! Shoot, maybe I’ll make my own lunch notes. Just kidding, kind of.

I knew that I was going to use the 2″ x 3″ cards so I downloaded a Silhouette file and sized it so that the notes would perfectly fit in them.  I was able to cut multiple of these at a time which sped up the process.  You could also make these without a machine pretty easily.  Just apply a bit of adhesive to the edges, fold over and you’ve got your pocket.

There’s also this little flap that you can fold down. You can tuck these in or out depending on your mood.  I folded most of mine out like you see pictured above and look how the flowers align so well.

Next, add a simply embellishment to the front of the card.  You could also add a sentiment but then again, the sentiment is in the lunch note, right?

The cards I chose were from the 6″ x 6″ paper pad, which was great because the backs were white. That’s perfect for adding a personal note to each of them. I also added a small puffy sticker or two to each note. It just needed a little pop of something.

Once the personal note is written, just insert the card in the pocket and stash them away so you have them ready to go when you pack their lunches.  I think I’ll make or alter a cute little box to store these in…

So there you have it. School Lunch Notes ready to go.  Super fun and super easy!

DIY Notebook with Tabs

Hello everyone It’s Eva on the blog today sharing a tutorial on how to make a DIY Notebook with tabs to organize your school year.

Create a DIY Notebook and organize your school year with this tutorial from @evapizarrov featuring the new Bright Life collection by @pebblesinc #madewithpebbles #pebblesinc

You can use this notebook for so many things: to schedule your meeting, take notes, organize your finances, etc! I decided to use mine to keep track of DT assignments and blog posts. The mini is organized by months but you can customize your tabs to fit your needs.

I decided to use the gorgeous papers from the My Bright Life collection, the patterns and colors make me happy and they are perfect for a girly notebook!

Start by cutting 12 inside dividers of 8 1/2 inch x 6 inch. I used my Trim and Score and even cut 2 or 3 pages together!

Use your Tab Punch Board to create the tabs. I did 3 sets of 4 tabs each. (Jan-Apr, May-Aug, Sept-Dec)

To create the first and last tab put the Tab alignment tab and create a medium tab.

To create the 2 central tabs align your paper at the 6 Small mark, punch and then flip your paper and punch on the Medium size tab. To create the other central tab simply flip your paper to back side and punch!

I decided to use the Word Punch Board to write my months on the tabs. First I aligned the first and last letter to the 2 and 16 mark, punched and then aligned the middle letter to the 9 mark. I did this so my letters could be closer together.

Here are all my tabs, pretty right? I tried to make each set of 4 of the same color.

To finish the notepad I created two 8 1/2 inch x 6-inch cardstock covers and bind everything with my Cinch. On each divider, I glued a monthly calendar that I printed directly from my computer.

See how lovely the tabs look? You can even attach a colored paper on the back if you want them to stand out a bit more.

The cover is really simple, I just added the “Notes” word with some gold thickers.

tip: See the gold border on my cover? Before I attached my paper I covered the sides with gold washi tape!

I hope like this little DIY Notepad, I know I am ready to start organizing my year! Thanks for joining me and have a great day!

National Watermelon Day with Amanda!

Hi Pebbles Friends!

Happy National Watermelon Day!

Amanda here, & I thought we might celebrate this fun day with some super cute cards!

Think melons, lemons, berries & cherries – it’s a fruit salad of My Bright Life inspiration!

Oh-so-pretty! & SO many fruity possibilities within this collection! Love it!

Here’s how I created those sweet watermelon cards….

Use a metal die, digital cut file OR fussy cut your own watermelon die cuts from white cardstock. Paper piece the melons with patterns from the 6 x 6 Paper Pad.

Take a 12″ x 12″ sheet of white cardstock and trim it 10″ x 7″ to create the 5″ x 7″ card, as well as 10″ x 5″ to create the smaller square card. Score down the centers, and fold to create the card bases.

Trim the reverse side of pattern paper Retro Stripe to 4 3/4″ x 6 3/4″ & adhere to the front of the 5″ x 7″ card. To soften the vivid lime green paper (so it doesn’t distract your eye from the watermelons) cover it with a 4 3/4″ x 6 3/4″ sheet of clear vellum paper. Repeat this process for the smaller 5″ square card.

Foam mount a watermelon to the center of the card fronts.

Add Thickers for the card sentiments.

Embellish with a gold foil Accent Sticker & for finishing touches use black sequins, gemstones or beads to make the melon seeds.

Voila!

Super simple, but oh so effective! You’re 1 in a Melon, indeed!

Using the same card bases, and other fruit pattern papers from My Bright Life, I was able to create a series of fruity cards…..

Aren’t these berry cards the sweetest?! They feature pattern paper Strawberry Picnic, as well as the 6 x 6 Paper Pad, Ephemera & Puffy Stickers. Cute!

These lemon cards are full of sunshine and include pattern papers Fresh Picked and Lemons, as well as the 6 x 6 Paper Pad, and Ephemera. Adore!

And last but by no means least, these pretty cherry cards are pink perfection! They include pattern papers Sweet Cherries and Little Thoughts, as well as the 6 x 6 Paper Pad, Ephemera, Puffy Stickers, Accent Stickers, and that fabulous Dimensional Sticker too!

Deliciously sweet & fruity cards to share with family & friends!

Happy Watermelon Day!

I hope I have inspired you to make some fruity-liscious cards!

Happy Arty Days, Amanda xo
