Hello Pebbles Fans!  It’s Mendi here and I’m so excited to share a new Halloween layout using Pebbles awesome Thirty-One collection!

Halloween Layout featuring Circle Border created by Mendi Yoshikawa using the #Thirty-One collection from @PebblesInc. @SnippetsByMendi

No layout is ever complete without a catchy title so I mixed a couple different Thicker sets and substituted a creepy spider for my “O”.  I love how it worked out to have it hanging from the word above it!

To balance my layout, I created a little scene with a few of the stickers in the top right corner of my page.  I chose to pop up the cloud and moon sticker with foam tape for some added dimension.

Last, but not least I created a circle border to act as the main decorative element for my layout.  I love borders like this one which allow me to use a variety of patterns within the collection without overwhelming my page, while also serving to ground all the adorable stickers in the collection!

To create my border I combined a variety of punched circles from several of the patterned papers in sizes ranging between 1-1/4″ to 2-1/4″.  If you don’t have circle punches or dies handy, this could also be achieved by tracing with a pencil on the back side and then cutting by hand.

Inspired by the “Happy Halloween” sticker in the collection, I chose to add pinking circle mats under several of my punched circles using a similar die I had on hand.

For several of my sticker embellishments I cut up and added foam tape to the back of the sticker before adhering to my punched circle.

I love how that slight difference in height adds some nice shadows and keeps my sticker from feeling lost on the patterned paper background!

Halloween Layout

Good morning, Becki, here to share a layout with you using the Thirty-One collection. I really wanted to put the photo overlays in this collection to good use. I also grabbed a few sheets of patterned papers, thickers, stickers, and a few pieces from the triangle banner kit.

Becki Adams_Little Pirate_3Once I had my supplies and photos together I got started with the overlays. Because the photos I had didn’t match the sizes of photo overlays I used them a couple of different ways. I adhered my photos to the top one of the 4×6 overlays, then I adhered it to the background of the layout. Next to the photos I wrote my journaling on the background paper and carefully adhered a 4×4 photo overlay over my jouraling on the background paper.

Halloween layout created by @jbckadams for @pebblesincAbove the photo and journaling I added a title and a Halloween vignette using a few of the banner pieces and stickers.

Moving forward I will be thinking of ways to use my photo overlays in more creative ways, no solely for dressing up my photos.

Colors of Fall Layout with Rosette Tutorial

Hello there!  It’s Mendi here sharing a layout inspired by the colors of autumn using some more beautiful papers from Jen Hadfield’s Home+Made collection.

Pebbles Home+Made Colors of Fall Layout by Mendi Yoshikawa using the #JHHomeMade collection from @PebblesInc. @mendi_yoshikawa

When I think of fall my mind goes to bundling up in big blankets.  I carried that idea across in my layout with my patchwork vertical border which I stitched with my sewing machine.  I also used the bracket die (which was intended for embellishing banners) as a shelf to help ground my photo.  I am really loving the die set from this collection–It is super versatile and just a great every day basic to have in your arsenal!  🙂

For my journaling I used one of the tag stickers from the collection with a vellum overlay which I ran through my printer using a specialty paper setting.

I fussy cut three of the flowers to create my focal point.  I then took the super cool new burlap sheet and die-cut my leaves from it.  The burlap sheet has these adorable polka-dot printed on it, but my leaf was small enough that the dots were getting lost on them so I simply flipped them over and added some hand-stitching for a little interest.

I finished off my layout with some over-sized gold foil alphabet stickers from the collection and a stamped sentiment which I heat embossed with gold embossing powder.

As I was working I realized the wood in my photo had more warm, red tones to it so I decided to ink the edges with a foam dauber and some distress ink to help the paper better compliment my photo.  It was just what my layout needed to tie everything together!

To create my felt rosettes which I used for the centers of each of my flowers, I have a very simple tutorial to share using only a few basic supplies.

To start, diecut a piece of felt using the scalloped circle die from the Home+Made collection.  Next run it through the die-cutting machine again using a circle die to remove the center (you could also do this by hand).  Snip a small spot between two scallops.

From the snipped spot, start rolling the circle, adding small dots of liquid adhesive as needed.  When the rosette is your desired size, just clip off the remaining felt and secure the end with more liquid adhesive.  They are super easy to make and yet so cute!

I thought they were the perfect finishing touch to my flowers to give them a little extra pizzazz.

I hope you will give them a try–You just might find them addicting!

Pumpkin Carving Layout with Coordinating Mini Clothespins

Hello Pebbles friends!  It’s Wendy Sue here with you today, sharing a layout all about our Halloween pumpkins from last year!

MiniClothesPins-03

My assignment was to use mini clothespins on my layout…and at first I panicked because I wanted to create a Fall or Halloween layout, but those collections didn’t have any clothespins in them.  Then I had one of those “shoulda had a v-8” head-slapping moments and realized that I could alter any clothespin to coordinate with the collection I wanted to use, which, in this case, is the Thirty-One Collection!

As you can see, I used clothespins to anchor each collage of numbered tags featured over each photograph.

My first inclination was to use patterned paper to embellish the wooden clothespins, but after adding the gold Thickers for my title, I changed my mind.

I really like the “POP” from the gold glitter addition to the clothespins.

And they were easier to create than you might think!  Here’s how:

First, choose any mini clothespin you’d like to use.  Here’s a link to all of the styles and colors available from Pebbles: Clothespins!

Next, choose a sticker or patterned paper that coordinates with the products you are using for your project.  In this case, I chose the Phrase & Accent Stickers from the Jen Hadfield Home + Made Collection – because I wanted to use the gold glitter banner stickers to cover my clothespins.

Pumpkin Carving 101 Layout by @wendysuea feauring the #thirtyone collection by @PebblesInc

After removing the sticker from the sheet, I simply flipped it over to the back-side and traced around the clothespin with a pen.

Next, simply cut the piece from the sticker (or patterned paper).

Finally, attach the piece to the top of the clothespin.  You could cut away the piece that goes over the wire of the clothespin, if you prefer, but I like the nice, smooth surface.

And that’s all there is to it!  Now you can have perfectly coordinating clothespins for any project!

Wedding Layout with Mini Clothespins

Hi, it’s Renee Zwirek here today to share with you how I used Mini Clothespins on this wedding layout I created with the lovely Home+Made collection.

MiniClothesPins-03

I started with these fabulous Large Gold Alphas.  I made sure I added some adhesive foam dots to them first so that they wouldn’t stick to my working surface.  Then, I used a sewing needle to poke tiny holes along the tops of each letter. Using the same sewing needle, I threaded the black and white baker’s twine through the letters and made sure I spaced them out the way I wanted for my layout.

I added some extra adhesive foam dots where I thought I would need them to make sure the gold of the letters would look nice and smooth.

I placed my title where I wanted it and added the mini clothespins to the twine.  I finished off my mini clothespins by tying some bows to them.

Here’s the finished layout.  I love this family photo (taken by Casey Broadwater) at my brother-in-law’s wedding!  I made the photo 5 x 7 for two reasons.  One, it was the perfect size to go with those pretty gold letters of my title (of course, it’s all about the scrapbooking first. Ha!).  And, two, I really wanted the photo to be the focal point for my layout.  I really love the way this pattern paper draws your eye to the photo and title.
