Tealightful Graduation Layout | Teacher Appreciation Week

Hello Pebbles friends! It’s Monique here today, sharing a Tealightful graduation layout for “Teacher Appreciation” week. Last year was an exciting year as both my daughter and my eldest son graduated from high school. Although I created many layouts about my daughter’s graduation, I didn’t scrap a single one about my son’s. When I saw the theme for this week, I knew what I wanted to do — create a layout celebrating my son’s graduation as well as a tribute to his awesome teacher. I used Pebbles’ awesome Tealightful collection to create this page.

I’m thrilled I finally got this page done! I struggled finding a collection for a “boy layout” and although this collection isn’t exactly masculine, it works perfectly!

Here’s how this page came together. First, I selected the products I thought I was going to use: leftover scraps of patterned paper, little squares cut from the Tea Party Sentiments sheet, (puffy) stickers, die-cuts, and the Pink Glitter Foam Thickers.

As the squares from the Tea Party Sentiments sheet measure 5 x 5 cm, I cut all other squares in this same size. Some of the squares I cut through diagonally, making them into triangles. Next, I arranged all the squares and triangles on a sheet of white cardstock.

When I was satisfied with the placement of all the squares, I put a little bit of adhesive behind them and machine stitched them next.

Following the stitching, I adhered the photo to the top of the layout and arranged die-cuts and stickers around it. I thought the “Here’s to New Adventures” die-cut was perfect for this occasion! Next, I had to decide where to place the Thickers. For a little while I wondered whether or not to use the pink glitter Thickers for my son’s layout, but in the end, I decided to just go for it and I am so glad I did!

Teacher Appreciation Layout: I Can Write

Hi Pebbles friends! It is Leanne here today, sharing a fun Teacher Appreciation layout using the Pebbles Inc Sunshiny Days collection. I thought I would go “big” on a smaller layout using large alphabet letters. I also got my youngest son to do the journaling!

Mini Alphabet punch board and the @pebblesInc #SunshinyDays collection by @leanne_allinson.

I love the bright colors from this summer loving collection, but I also know how versatile these patterned papers can be, so I converted the use of bright, fresh color to interpret elementary basics.

Using the WeRMemoryKeepers mini Alphabet Punch board, I created my letters for the background detail.

I didn’t cover the entire cardstock base, as I knew where my photo placement needed to be, so I saved myself the extra effort of creating letters. I mounted the photo onto extra patterned paper, then adhered it to the page.

Using the die cut ephemera pieces, I asked my seven year old to write some journaling directly onto the card. As the photo is about a list of names he had practiced writing, he kept his journaling relatively short | “I can write” + Name & Age! *grin*

Next, I then tucked the journaling card between the layers of patterned paper and added a few die cut embellishments.

While this layout isn’t in a typical Teacher Appreciation format, I love that I’ve documented his school boy hand writing. Of course, his writing stems directly from what he has learned from his dedicated teachers.

Thanks for joining me here today..x

DIY Decoupage Succulent Planter Teacher Gift

Hello everyone, Heather Leopard is here to walk you through creating a cute decoupage succulent planter as a teacher gift. I want to say thank you to all the teachers out there! As the school year is winding down, I’m thinking about ways to show my daughters’ teachers some appreciation. Since they are an integral part of my daughters’ development and growth, I thought it only fitting to create a one-of-a-kind teacher gift. See how to create this cute teacher gift to show your appreciation for all your kids’ teachers do.

DIY Teacher Gift by @heatherleopard using the @PebblesInc #jenhadfield #simplelife collection #teachergift #DIY #decoupagepot #madewithpebbles

Begin by selecting a patterned paper from the Simple Life collection.  I wanted something that was neutral colored but also nature-themed, so this page was perfect for my vision!

Cut your chosen patterned paper in various pieces.  Here’s just a sample of how I cut it.  I ended up using the entire sheet for the project.

Apply a liberal amount of decoupage mixture and adhere the paper to the clay pot. I worked all the way around the pot like this, ensuring there was enough overlapping the top and bottom of the pot.

I covered the entire pot, then went back over the top with more decoupage mixture to really seal the paper.  Repeat this step a few times, especially on the inside.

Next, fill your new planter with your favorite flowers or succulents. Finish off the gift with a couple small signs to insert into the pot.  I chose a sentiment and a butterfly from the Simple Life collection.

Do you think my daughter’s teacher will like it? I’ll add a coordinating gift card, but in all honesty I kind of want to keep it for myself! This project is the perfect gift for a teacher of friend who needs a cute gift for their kitchen or desktop.

Valentine’s Day Card and Quick Gift

Hello, Renee here today to share a Valentine’s Day Card and Quick Gift using the My Funny Valentine collection.  Hope you all enjoyed Valentine’s Day with your loved ones.  This card and stacked treat boxes gift set was given to Payton’s teacher for Valentine’s Day.  I can see myself making this for a birthday, too.  I loved using my We R Memory Keepers 123 Punch Board for this project!  So cute!

Valentine's Day Card and Quick Gift made for a teacher by @reneezwirek using the #MyFunnyValentine collection by @pebblesinc

  1. I decided to create 2 ½” x 2 ½” x 1 ¾”, 3 ¼” x 3 ¼” x 1 ¾”, and 4″ x 4″ x 1 ¾” boxes.  So, I trimmed the Fresh Strawberries pattern paper to 7″ x 7″, the Heart Fest pattern paper to 8″ x 8″, and the Beautiful Day pattern paper to 9″ x 9″.
  2. I followed the rest of the instructions and made my punches and scored the papers.
  3. I folded and adhered the pattern papers to create adorable little treat boxes.

I filled the boxes with sweet treats!  Yum!

No adhesive here. I simply closed up the boxes, stacked them (heaviest treats went into the bottom box), and used green tulle (teacher’s favorite color) to tie them together and make a pretty bow.

I used a Raised Adhesive Dot to adhere this fun apple Die-Cut to the treat boxes that is just perfect for Payton’s teacher.

Here is the quick and simple 5″ x 6″ “Happy Heart Day” card made to go with the gift:

Love the Glitter Heart Stickers because the glitter stays put on my project and doesn’t fall off easily!

Christmas Gift Cards

Hello!  Renee here to share a step-by-step tutorial of Christmas Gift Cards made using the Holly Jolly collection.  It’s my favorite time of year again…creating cute gifts for teachers!  I decided to do something a little different this year since I’m making gifts just for Payton’s teachers this year.  So, I created Christmas cards with a super simple gift card holder inside.  Christmas Gift Cards…a bit of a play on words.  😉

I trimmed the Holiday Village and Happy Holidays pattern papers to 4 ¾” x 6 ¾” and adhered them to 5″ x 7″ green and red card bases.

I trimmed the Gingerbread (shown below) and Peppermints pattern papers to 6 ½” x 12″.  I scored the papers at the 4 ¾”, 6″, and 7 ¼” marks.  I first scored the center 6 ” mark and then went 1 ¼” to the left and 1 ¼” to the right from the center mark.

  1. I folded the pattern paper in half.
  2. I flipped the first part up and folded at the 7 ¼” score line.
  3. I flipped the pattern paper and folded at the 4 ¾” score line.
  4. Now the Christmas Gift Card inserts are ready to prepare for the actual gift cards.

  1. To prepare the inserts for the gift cards, I first added adhesive along the edges of where the gift card would go using the gift card as my guide.
  2. I brought the folds together and adhered them.
  3. I marked the center of the pattern paper at 3 ¼”.  I marked the other two spots based off of the size of the gift card.  So, for this gift card, I marked the pattern paper at 1 ¼” and 5 ¼”.
  4. I used my paper trimmer to cut off ¼” of the pattern paper staying within the previous marks and then used scissors to make my final cuts.  Simple and sweet!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere my gift card inserts to the insides of my cards.

I embellished the cards with adorable bits from the Holly Jolly Ephemera Die-Cuts.  I created a bow for the die-cut wreath using the Christmas Plaid pattern paper and the Crate Paper Maggie Holmes Styleboard Dies.
