Hey there! Terhi Koskinen back again sharing some scrapbooking love to all of you! Today I’m diving into the world of the most beautiful collection from the lovely Jen Hadfield: My Bright Life.

My Bright Life makes my life really bright, as it’s pure therapy to create with it seeing all the beautiful colors, patterns, flowers… I was so happily overwhelmed by this collection, I didn’t know from where to start creating and so I decided to go with the first thing came to my mind: my dear daughter who is as colorful as the collection is!

Once again I recorded the creation process to a video, hope you have couple minutes to watch it. I’ll show you exactly how this layout was made, and you can follow up.

Thank you for watching, and remember to subscribe my YouTube  channel for more inspiration.

Have a great day!

School Lunch Notes

Hi everyone. Heather Leopard is here and with the first day of school just 3 weeks away, I’m getting a jump start on school lunch prep.  No, I’m not prepping the actual meals because that would be just gross; I’m talking about school lunch notes.  I don’t care how old your kids are, including a little note in their lunch kit will make their day!

I don’t care how old your kids are, including a little note in their lunch kit will make their day! Shoot, maybe I’ll make my own lunch notes. Just kidding, kind of.

I knew that I was going to use the 2″ x 3″ cards so I downloaded a Silhouette file and sized it so that the notes would perfectly fit in them.  I was able to cut multiple of these at a time which sped up the process.  You could also make these without a machine pretty easily.  Just apply a bit of adhesive to the edges, fold over and you’ve got your pocket.

There’s also this little flap that you can fold down. You can tuck these in or out depending on your mood.  I folded most of mine out like you see pictured above and look how the flowers align so well.

Next, add a simply embellishment to the front of the card.  You could also add a sentiment but then again, the sentiment is in the lunch note, right?

The cards I chose were from the 6″ x 6″ paper pad, which was great because the backs were white. That’s perfect for adding a personal note to each of them. I also added a small puffy sticker or two to each note. It just needed a little pop of something.

Once the personal note is written, just insert the card in the pocket and stash them away so you have them ready to go when you pack their lunches.  I think I’ll make or alter a cute little box to store these in…

So there you have it. School Lunch Notes ready to go.  Super fun and super easy!

Learn to do easy Mixed Media Cards with Terhi

Hello all! Terhi Koskinen here with my first post using My Bright Life collection and Metallic Cream Chalks from Pebbles Inc.

As much as I’m keen on mixed media, I love to keep my projects quick and easy.  So even though you might sometimes see multiple layers on my projects, they are always quick and easy to do. To proof this to you, I’m playing Metallic Cream Chalks today for the first time ever, and using them to make shiny addition to My Bright Life Card Kit cards.

My Bright Life Card Kit includes everything you need to make beautiful cards: card bases, envelopes, foam dots and die cuts. So all I did was that I added some chalk through a stencil on each card I worked with, and then couple drops of white mist. Easy, right?

If you still hesitate, just take a look to a video I recorded while playing and you’ll be finally convinsed to give a small mixed media vibe to your next cards.

Thank you for watching – remember to subscribe my YouTube channel.

15 Minute Layout with Land That I Love……

Hi Pebbles Friends!

Amanda here, with a super quick but oh so stunning, scrapbook layout with the gorgeous Land That I Love collection! I was so excited when I read this week’s theme for the blog – 15 minute craft ideas! I set my timer and challenged myself with this one! Here’s what I created….

“Happy”

Oh isn’t this gorgeous?!!

I know, how did I make this in 15 minutes? Let me tell you……

Start by fussy cutting approximately one third of pattern paper, PATRIOTIC BLOSSOMS. I’m not going to lie, this took me a solid 7 minutes, but the rest of the layout is so quick it can still be created in the 15 minute time frame. If you’re a slower fussy cutter you may want to prepare your cut blossoms a day before 😉

While your trusty scissors are handy, trim the reverse side of pattern paper HAPPY 4TH! The size is 2″ x 12″ and be sure to include the red gingham pattern strip at the base of the paper.

Attach the 2″ trim to the left hand side of a 12″ x 12″ white cardstock base. Glue a 12″ length of delicate white lace over the paper join – as shown above.  While it’s adhering, prepare your photograph!

Back your photo with a PRINTED CARDSTOCK SHAPES blossom & a lace doily. This doily will act as a circular guide for the fussy cut wreath. Line up your photo with the center of the trim and stick down with foam dots.

Arrange fussy cut blossoms in the wreath design, leaving two ‘breaks’ in the wreath. When happy, glue into place.

Fill those wreath ‘breaks’ with PRINTED CARDSTOCK SHAPES and 6 x 12 ACCENT STICKERS birds.

Embellish the blossoms wreath with PUFFY STICKERS: RED, WHITE & BLUE DOTS…..

Apply 6 x 12 blossom ACCENT STICKERS to the top and bottom right hand corners of the layout. Add a Thickers  title (happy) and for finishing touches, add tiny silver Thickers stars to the wreath.

Sigh! SO preeeeeeetty!

Here’s a few close ups for you…..

The lace really adds a soft touch to this crisp color scheme!

Those silver America Thickers are just fabulous! SO cool!

And there you have it!

Simple, sweet and in my album in just 15 minutes! Yessss!

Memory keeping doesn’t need to take you hours. I urge you to give this super quick layout design a try!

Thanks so much for visiting today,

til next time,

Happy Arty Days, Amanda xo

Patio Party and Planner Inspiration!

Hi Pebbles Friends!

Amanda here, and for planning theme week I wanted to share a makeover of my less glamorous, everyday planner! Not the over sized, over decorated planner that sits on my desk for flat lay photo shoots –  but the honest, everyday, no frills, pocket size one that I carry around in my purse! My ‘real life mom’ planner! You know the one, it has scribblings of new phone numbers, a reminder to pick up the dry cleaning, a few coupons and a list of bills to pay!

Yes… the boring, unexciting planner. BUT, that’s all about to change with a quick planner make over!

I am using the gorgeous, bright & happy Patio Party collection for this cute planner inspiration today…

This line is so pretty, and the colors in Patio Party will brighten any dull organizer! And while I want to create a much happier, prettier planner I also want to keep it practical and easy to use –

Here’s how….

My planner make over starts with creating my own custom dividers.

To make these ‘fit’ perfectly, use the original dividers that your organizer came with as a template. Trace the template onto your favourite Patio Party pattern paper and cut out. I also trace the holes so I know exactly where to hole punch my new dividers. As the first divider is the one I’ll always see when I open my planner, I use the striking gold foil specialty paper from the 6 x 6 Paper Pad.

*Note: The 6 x 6 papers are single sided, so you’ll need to repeat this process – reverse side up for the template, and adhere both sides together to create the one divider*

The striped, shiny gold pattern is just gorgeous but as this is the front cover divider, it still needs more….

I embellish with a few stickers from the 6 x 12 Accent Stickers sheet. Cute! That sentiment sticker has just the right amount of inspiration too! Now that I’m happy with my first divider, I proceed to make one for every tabbed section in my organizer. This time, I use the double sided 12″ x 12″ pattern papers so I only need to trace each template once. Here’s a look at them all, right side up…..

Aren’t they the sweetest?! I’m already feeling uplifted! Here’s the reverse side….

Pretty florals, and oh my heart, flamingos!!! What a difference a set of dividers can make to your organizer!

And when it comes to being organized, having a bookmark to instantly locate your fave section of your planner is essential!

How sweet is this book mark?! Like the dividers, I use the original as a template to trace around, cut out and hole punch. So simple, and yet such a practical and pretty adornment to  your organizer.

Speaking of practical, how about something cute ‘n’ fun to store all those ugly coupons in?

Oh hello flamingos & hello happy! This planner pocket makes me smile!

There are a number of ways to create pockets, but the simplest one is to trace your divider template, but double the width. In my example my planner is 3 1/2″ x 5″, so I cut out a 3 1/2 ” x 10″ piece of paper. Score down the center, fold and tape the base and sides together.  Be sure to leave the top unsealed so you can insert your bits ‘n’ pieces into the pocket. Looking for something more sturdy? Instead of tape, machine stitch the sides and base.

The next step in ‘dressing up’ my everyday planner was to convert the plain plastic pocket inserts into something a bit more special….

Eeep! Sequin shaker pockets are my favourite!!! So cool! This pocket now doubles as a super pretty divider!

To create this fun (& practical) pocket, you’ll need to insert a piece of pattern paper into the pocket. It needs to be a snug fit to help hold the sequins in place. Add sequins, and then fuse or glue the top of the pocket to the pattern paper. Embellish with another of those gorgeous 6 x 12 Accessory Stickers. You’ll see in the image below that the back of the pocket still opens, and remains suitable for storing small items, receipts, tickets etc. …

Love this! So perfect & so much fun!!!

Time to dress up that dashboard and boring cover!

I start by selecting a few of my favourite Die Cuts, and hot glue a large paperclip to the back of each of them. Here’s a closer look for you….

Oh what a stunning page marker! Planner clips never looked so sweet!

Insert them into your cover, add a few more stickers and voila!

Now that’s more like it! Still lightweight, & practical for my purse, but oh so pretty too!!!

Here’s a look at that shaker pocket in action….

Gorgeous!!!

When it comes to jazzing up your organizer, or updating it with a fresh Spring look, Patio Party is the perfect choice!

I hope you feel inspired to get creative in your planners and organizers with our beautiful products!

Thanks so much for visiting today,

Happy Arty Days, Amanda xo
