Hello everyone! It’s Eva Pizarro here today showing you a quick tutorial on how to make a BIG patterned paper title. The designs of the Everyday collection are gorgeous so I thought I could show case a lot of them using the title as the main focus of my page.
This page is about my husband and my son, they love each other so much! and my husband is truly the best dad in the whole world. We suffered many losses before Lorenzo and now we are giving him all the love we had in our heart.
To make the letters, you can either cut them in a electronic die cut machine or you can just cut them by hand. I printed my title using a bold font like “Governor” and cut each letter apart.
I also cut my photo in a shape. To do this, I drew a heart in a photo editing program before printing so I was sure my photo was the right dimension.
Put each letter on top of your patterned paper and hold the paper with some washi tape so it doesn’t move
Now that you have all your letters, arrange them on your page. I added a subtitle cut with an electronic die cut machine too.
Use all those little bits and pieces from different projects to make a border. Use the tiny strips that come in the bottom of each paper too!
To finish my layout I stitched around my border and my letters and added small embellishments.
See how the stitching around my photo is a bit uneven? The foot of the sewing machine sticks on photographic paper, to avoid this simply trace the border of the picture with a pencil, stitch and then attach the photograph! I will remember this the next time!
The rest of the stitching was fairly easy, just go slow, specially in the round letters.
I included journaling in one of my letters, for me a page isn’t finished if I don’t tell the story. The stickers were perfect to add a touch of dimension to the letters. Just use this tip and some 3d dots.
I hope you liked this technique! be sure to share with us if you use it!
It beautiful to document a father-son relationship! Do you want another great layout inspiration? What about this one from Mendi? I love this viewfinder inspired layout!
Have a great day!
